The mice weren't naked.. the scenes of Spiegleman's mother's suicide presents her naked. The nudity combined with the graphic nature of her suicide were deemed not appropriate for MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. It was not removed from High School libraries. All middle schools have criteria for what is acceptable for 11-13 year olds, and what is not. THOUSANDS of books are not appropriate for that age group.

Everyone is quick to jump into the conversation about Maus, but most people either haven't really read it, or don't know the details of the reasons it was removed, or where it was removed from.
