OK. I'll be seeing that. Like Guy Pierce too.

Since there will hopefully never be a remake to Escape from New York, I'll take this. I like Pierce too, as well as Maggie Grace.

Looks good! Possibly even theater-worthy for me.

I just hope I don't look at it and keep wishing that Snake Plisken should be in the lead role. Can you imagine the moment when they open Snake's jail cell and he says - "Not the same fucking thing AGAIN!" "No, not the same fucking thing at all. This time you are going into space."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

(this is my head exploding from all the awesome)

I recall praising the teaser trailer some time back, and now the movie looks completely different.

I got the "Escape from New York" vibe too, and much like that film I spent most of my time asking questions like "How economical can it possibly be to send criminals into space?"

Not sure about Guy Pearce, I like him as an actor, but he doesn't "look" like a memorable character, especially when you're being unfairly compared to Snake Plisken before your movie is even out.

Still, I was on the positive side, until they did that "Maggie Grace lands Face First on his crotch" bit. That gag is cringe inducing, juvenile, disrespectful, low brow and stupid, so that lost points for me. It seems too "frat house". Based on the footage we do see I can't picture this kind of gag fitting into the tone of the film. Maybe its meant to show Pearce's character as a complete A-Hole, but they could have found a way a million other ways to do that throughout the trailer rather disgracing Maggie like that, and leaving me with a bad taste in my brain.

This concept has been done before (Star Trek: Voyager and Fortress 2), but not with this much production value behind it. I agree that the idea of a space prison doesn't wash with the logic of economy.

Looks predictable but, I'll probably watch it!

Why are all the prisoners Scottish?

Or is the Scottish one the only one who has any lines?

Well all the people of Scotland are trouble makers so it makes sense.
