Four years ago Kevin Koe left his old team and put together a new team with ONE goal - to represent Canada at the Winter Olympics. Tonight he won the trial by having the last rock in the final end of a tied game, which is the way it should be won. In a country full of the best curlers on the planet this is the very best we have. Woe be to anyone who has illusions that the GOLD medal is theirs. Just play for silver or bronze and that is a great accomplishment for any other Curling nation. But the GOLD is ours because we are GODS at this game. If you appreciate the game then you know the truth of what I speak.
Congratulations Team Kevin Koe Curling (Kevin Koe, Marc Kennedy, Brent Laing, Ben Hebert, Scott Pfeifer, John Dunn) - now heading to Pyeongchang as Team Canada / Équipe Canada!!
Hebert and Kennedy already have their Gold Medals but for Koe and Lang it is their first time at the big show. I can't wait. This is MY World Cup if that makes sense to anyone. Our woman's team is equally as strong and the favorites for the Gold medal as well. I would love to see these two teams play each other because in curling anyone can win at anytime. The sex of the players is irrelevant. It's one of the great competitions where skill and brains are more important than brute strength. Okay now I NEED to see these two teams play each other.
Congratulations Team Homan (Rachel Homan, Emma Miskew, Joanne Courtney, Lisa Weagle, Cheryl Kreviazuk, Adam Kingsbury) - now heading to Pyeongchang as Team Canada / Équipe Canada!!
