The Soviets Made A Boom Box?

Why was this even created? It goes against the idea of Cold War Soviet economics which really didn't make available such modern consumer entertainment products - certainly not one that would encourage the Soviet Youth from becoming more enamored with Western rock music culture than they already were. Certainly not with a tape deck because that kind of music delivery format had to almost universally be imported from the West and that was a crime in the USSR. Plus nothing would be colored red. Too cheery a color for a nation with daily train trips to the Siberian Gulags. I bet all those modular parts don't fit together once you take the pieces apart because like most Soviet products from cars to rocket ships were just poorly made junk.
