I washed the bathmat yesterday and the Admiral wandered around the house like he was lost. He stood at the door to the bathroom just looking into the room. I suppose he thought the mat might immediately reappear in the same way that it disappeared. Two minutes after I put it back he stretched himself out and enjoyed the 'just from the dryer' smells. He is such a goofy kitty.

Ah, that is so sweet. Our cats are mad at us right now because it is so cold we won't let them go outside. It is a sad household!
My cat has a blankie but no particular attachment to our bath mat.
Forgive the question, but I thought he was blind?
Don't get me wrong; I'd be delighted if he's not (and I'd just been misunderstanding your posts). My own cat went blind, last year.
By the way THANK YOU for posting "The Expando Machine"! so kind of you.
He's high functioning with his disability. He can sense when something is 'not right'. He of course walked around the bathroom and didn't feel the mat under his feet. He has also been really needy lately. Five days in the house for him because of the weather. He is getting some cabin fever. So I didn't help things in his little world.
Jordan, I watch a lot of stuff and only the most very cool gets on this blog. I really enjoy the voices and the situation. It's exactly the scenerio I would imagine if I had an expando ray.
Change = Bad. Very, very bad.
My kittehs love the bathmat too, but I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that the heat blasts directly onto it and our bathroom is teeny so it warms up quickly.
I suspect the Admiral is there for the exact same reason.
hi functioning with a disability - most cats are a little Aspergerish
