The color and effects variations are a bit of improvement (though I have no idea what the one with coils on the top row is supposed to be)
Even with that addition, I just can't help but think "Office Supply" when I see this new logo. Probably because the "D" looks like either a post-it note, or the corner of a computer folder icon. This design says "App", not "Exciting Storytelling". Its so stilted and nowhere near as dynamic as their current logo.
And we all know that the problem with DC comics is their logo. I do like the idea of a 52 week series and maybe they should do a reboot every couple of years and bring in a whole fresh set of writers and artists. Now that would be brave. This logo stinks of desperation and corporate branding that is a decade too late.
Erik, I'm guessing the one with all the coils & stuff is meant to be the logo for the Batman-related titles.
I neither loathe it or like it. I'll wait 'til I see it on the covers before I make a judgement proper. still, it doesn't exactly scream "comics!" does it?
It's a logo designed to look good on the website and the e-comics. It probably looks like crap in four color print, but you likely won't see it in actual print, once they do away with their paper editions entirely.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

I think it would definitely need to grow on me, but it is kinda different, kind of interesting.
On a related subject, I did a big change at my blog. Care to give me your two cents?
WHOA! Your new place is really different. I like it but need to play around with it more. Look at you Mr Future.
I concur...we were just mocking it at our monthly comic book store meeting.Even with the color variations it looks too 'corporate'

Looks like a sticker rather than a page being pulled back. Don't like stickers on my comics...

I think we comic guys have something we can actually agree on.
I agree with Totus & Eric. Too corporate. Hell, it looks like JPMorgan or Kraft.

I don't read paper comics anymore and read all I want online so this will not affect my life.
