Damn. This takes me back to those heady days where I couldn't understand why all this turmoil produced such crappy comic books. Such a major letdown for all the hype if you believed Wizard Magazine. If we had social media back then these guys wouldn't have lasted six months. The comics were horrible and were constantly late. Most went crawling back to Marvel to get some extra seed money to keep the company going. Name me five comics from Image that you are currently reading. I doubt many comic readers could do that.

The History Of Image Comics (So Much Damage) - Parts One To Five
Damn. This takes me back to those heady days where I couldn't understand why all this turmoil produced such crappy comic books. Such a major letdown for all the hype if you believed Wizard Magazine. If we had social media back then these guys wouldn't have lasted six months. The comics were horrible and were constantly late. Most went crawling back to Marvel to get some extra seed money to keep the company going. Name me five comics from Image that you are currently reading. I doubt many comic readers could do that.

Strangely enough, the modern Image Comics actually publish some pretty good stuff, far removed from the days of Youngblood, Shadowhawk and all that other Liefeld-esque crap. ( And I barely venture into comic shops nowadays but I've noticed that... )
Last year they put out The Hunt, an excellent horror comic by top talent and blog buddy Colin Lorimer - one of the best comics I've read in years. Check it out...

I have to agree with cerebus660. There is no comparison between modern Image and "old" Image. New Image has recently been putting out some of the best books on the market, and many have been at the top of my monthly "must read" pile. Saga, Invincible, Walking Dead, Outcast, Revival, Chew, Manhattan Projects, Manifest Destiny, just to name a few. Great reads all around. They've come a long way since those vomit-inducing early days.
