Sean Connery Dead At Age 90

I remember the first time I went to the Drive-In with my Father. He took us to see Diamonds Are Forever which was my first James Bond movie. In those days there was no such thing as movies on demand. If it wasn't in the theatres or on TV you just didn't see it. You also had to watch the movie live. No taping it to watch later on either. You kids have no idea.

When the Age of Video arrived, the older movies of Connery's were a big hit around our house. I was amazed at how many GOOD movies he made in the 70s. And that was after spending the 60s playing James Bond. Any actor that took that role after him is a pale imitation of the character. He could have been forever type casted as a gentleman agent but that was not his destiny. He had many great movies still to make as he aged and I defy you to find another actor with such a diverse and interesting movie biography.

My Father was a huge fan with the Hunt For Red October being his favorite movie of all time but for my money his best performance after Goldfinger is The Man That Would Be King

Connery was the perfect actor for those kind of grand adventures because he had a way of just anchoring a big picture with his star appeal. Few actors could do intense like Sean Connery could. I am glad I never saw him in any comedies because that would have seemed weird.

Well Zardoz is a comedy and look how that one turned out. That outfit. Someone is pretty impressed with himself. Maybe that is what I am looking to say. Connery was always impressed with himself. He was best when he was the toughest and smartest guy in the room and that is why he was a real movie STAR. I will miss that most about him.

Finally I present the most loving and funny impersonation ever done of Sean Connery. I know he was often a difficult person to be around in real life and Darrel Hammond gets that. I always wondered how much Connery would have hated being goofed on and that makes it even funnier.

Very sad. The Hunt for Red October is my favorite of those you've listed. Not quite sure what he was thinking with Zardoz though.

He was seduced by the costumes for Zardoz.
