Big Time Local News
I awoke this morning to read in my local paper that Elton John is coming to perform in our city of Red Deer. That may not be a huge story to bigger towns but to our Central Alberta community it's huge. Previously the biggest star that ever played here were Snoop Dogg and Alice Cooper.
Our CENTRIUM only holds about 6000 people so I am shocked that we managed to bag such a famous performer - one who would only ever hold a concert in the major centers of Calgary or Edmonton.
The most expensive ticket is $115 Canadian!
I feel like this is a joke and Elton will just pull the plug at the last minute to protest the development of our Oil Sands. It all sounds so hinky when you learn that he is going to perform in the even SMALLER Alberta cities of Grand Prairie and Lethbridge.
I suddenly had this fear that Madonna would choose Red Deer as her place to take her anger out on Elton by staging some complicated city destroying super villain revenge plan. The two hate each other. Not enough room for both their egos in the room.
I hope I don't have to save the city...AGAIN!

Get your tix early!
He came and sang in Kelowna once. I couldn't believe it either, but he did. I'd already seen him in Vancouver. He is fantastic.
