If This Teaser Makes You Squeal Like A Little Girl...

Then you are my people. http://horrorthon.blogspot.ca/

I love the money shot of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. I so want them to do the movie like they did the story in the comic but that means introducing the Silver Surfer into the larger Marvel Universe of movies and there is no time for that. Probably won't be any Adam Warlock either. But there is Nebula so the movie can end like it did in the story I know.

But damn Thanos is going to be sweet to watch in action especially if they bring all that 'death is my lover' ennui into play. I think it's the strongest direction to go with the character and will give the heroes their only opportunity to win in some kind of realistic way. In fact Thanos himself has such a huge ego that he would actually respect the heroes if they could defeat him. In fact they beat him so thorough in the comic story that he ends up a farmer on a distant world tending his crops and leaving the whole job of genocidal universe killer aside. NO WAY does the movie let him off the hook like that.

How do you defeat a GOD with the powers of a GOD literally in his hands? You make him doubt and in that moment of hesitation you can destroy him. That 'hope' that the heroes could prevail against impossible odds because they were SMARTER and not stronger than Thanos was a huge part of what made the story so satisfying to me back when the comic book series first came out and probably what drove it to the top of the movie plot ideas that would wind up this whole AVENGERS adventure we have been on. I for one hope to live long enough for all of it to play out because as giant cosmic space operas go, it's a pretty good one.

The comic is worth your time. Ron Lim and George Perez did most of the art and it's gorgeous stuff to just look at. Brother Colin did a great review of the graphic novel, which you can probably find at your local library if downloading torrents is repellant to you. Worth your time if you want to see what all the fuss will be about for the next three years and why Thanos is such a great character for you to get to know.

Jeez, I'm still getting all worked up over The Age of Ultron, let alone jumping forward to the next set of movies!

You got to stay current or those kids will leave you behind.

Cinematic Silver Surfer is a Fox property (grrrrrr!) because of all the Fantastic Four nonsense, so it'll be years (decades?) before we get him in a proper Marvel movie.
