What is your favorite chicken story?
When I was a kid the funnest times we had in the summer was going to the family farm in rural Manitoba. It was a terrible piece of swampland between the two smallest towns in Canada, Vita and Sundown. The family kept a few cows, many chickens and had the best berry bushes in the Prairies. At the end of the summer everyone would come together to make jam, harvest the hay and kill the chickens. I was more of an 'indoor' child and I hated the whole massacre of the chickens. It was my 'silence of the lambs'.
I remember so vividly watching my sister in her little white dress covered in chicken blood. My relatives thought it was great to give her a hatchet because she took such glee in chopping the heads off in ONE stroke then giggling her ass off as the headless birds ran around the yard. It was a horror show but strangely, never affected my love for a good chicken dinner.

I don't know what is stranger, that story or the KFC coloring book! oh my...
I remember the chickens in my grandmother's yard as a kid. The roosters would chase us. There are pics of me, in full lower body cast as a baby, laying on a chair with chickens all around me. Good times.
I hated those birds. And why did you have a body cast?
I was born with a condition called AMC - Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita - and spent the first two years of my life in a cast for my hips and legs. Had surgery at age 2 to "fix" things, best they could back then. But I was able to walk and I haven't stopped yet! Aren't ya glad you asked! LOL
I am. I am glad you got fixed.
Me, too! ;)
And what about your sister? Is she in prison now?
Worse, she is in Australia.
