Just To Let You Know

My sale went terrible today. Only the Hutterites and old people showed up. I mean who wouldn't LOVE a Disco Stu in their collection. I just don't get it. I am beyond depressed and inconsolable. I feel like more of a loser than usually which is a low bar I never thought I would reach so I got that going for me. Looking forward to another day of disappointment tomorrow. By early evening I will be on Highway 2 trying to get hit by the largest vehicle I can find.

Oh shit. Well, it's Friday -- people were still at work during the day. Maybe Saturday will be better that way? I hope so! Hang in there, Cal.

Sorry to hear about that.
Maybe it's a sign (omen?) that all that good shiz was meant to stay in your collection...
:P

Ps. You're right, disco stu completes any collection.

Oh man, sorry. I hadn't appreciated the fact that this was a two-day sale. Hopefully, Saturday will see a more impressive turn-out as more people will have free time.

Crossing fingers for a better day today.

You are offering cool stuff, people don't get that sometimes... you should appeal to a collector crowd, don't let this get you down... you have some awesome... awesome pieces.

Jeremy

ps. I would be at your sale all day, spending all my cash... do you take checks, lol.

I live over a thousand miles away, or would have come
to the sale. But you're lucky I didn't, because the thing
I wanted most of all was a flowery tablecloth (shown in an earlier
picture) upon which was a ton of stuff, which I would have asked
you to move, entirely. It's a female thing.

People are out and about on Saturday, and all will go better today!
If you also have a big plate of free cookies, it will put them in
the happy mood.

You would do that for the tablecloth, wouldn't you? Just like those Hutterites.

You need a specific bunch of people who would appreciate that stuff. Hard to find at yardsales. Better luck tomorrow.

I agree with Dr. Goat. A local yard sale is not really the right market for these items. Not the right audience and even if you have one or two who are interested, they are looking for a bargain. Try selling a few on ebay, my friend. I think you will find far greater success by dealing with serious collectors, even if you have the additional hassle of fees and shipping. Test it out with a few mid-value items and see how it goes.

This is just the first step. I started in the garage and will do local buy and sell and then Kijiji and Craig's List. Then I will learn all about the devil that is EBay so I can exploit what they have to offer me. It's a learning thing. I might write and article about the experience.
