The West Wall Is Looking A Little Sparse

But now I have room to bring my girl figures up from the tubs downstairs and make the upstairs office just for my girls and other favorites. This is not so painful a process as I thought it would be. Choosing is not so tough. The sales day will be a nightmare of anxiety. I feel like I am putting out my life and lets see if I can get the value I placed on these toys. I think I was fair in my pricing. I am thinking like a toy show mogul. I have watched them enough to play the part. Most of what I am selling are one offs and figures that I don't care if I have them or not. As I cull the lot I notice how many great toys that I DO have. I know my shit. As my Uncle Steve once said, "This kid never does ANYTHING half way, does he?" It was one of the nicest things any of my relatives ever said to me.

Yeah, just think of all the new swag you'll get with the money. By the way, good job on giving hobgoblin238 the business over at super duper toy box...he is a numnut sometimes.

He's an asshole. I sent him some GREAT monster figures and stamps and all kinds of neat monster stuff for his café because I dug his whole idea and his vibe. All I asked for in return was a cool luchador mask. Hell he lives in MEXICO. He has a guy next to him that sells them EVERY DAMN DAY....but do you think he could give me a half second's thought to make me happy. Imagine. My OWN Luchador mask from Mexico. That is the kind of things that dreams are made of. So fuck him. I deleted him from my roll. He's the ONLY one I ever did that with. So my feelings on this subject go deep. He knows he did me dirty.

Debra, I am freaking out. I have to have the week to prepare and rehearse my possible conversations with people. I don't do that kind of thing everyday if you've noticed. EH, if they don't like my prices then everything goes back into tubs for another sale. Maybe online next time. Maybe Kijiji or Craig's List or some other outlet. I want to buy my mother's ticket to Australia when she goes in Feb so I need to raise 1200 at least. I felt the toys would be a good sacrifice. Clear out some clutter that she's been doing as we downsize. I have to prepare for change and this was a good start. It would be cool to hit my goal though. I would feel like I have her something that meant a lot to me so she could more easily do something that means a lot to her. She's a great lady.

I doubt you'll make anywhere near 1200 at a garage sale, having put on several of them I can tell you that people are looking to spend next to nothing there so they're going to beat you up all day. Are there any comic shops near by you could sell to? Hell, even Craig's list would be worth checking out. You may have to bite the bullet and start selling on eBay, just make them pay the shipping!

Ps. Screw hobgoblin, karma is a bitch.

You've got a good plan with several alternative options on how/where to sell them, the garage sale being one. My only advice is to target your advertising at people who are likely to be collectors. That's why I suggested some posters at comic shops or collectibles places. They need to know about your sale! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Just roll with it Cal. You'll know what to say when the time comes. Yard sales are a hard business. Be prepared to smile and say no.

Oh that is what I do best. And it's not a yard sale. I am just having it in a garage to protect my product. Just imagine if I was at a convention or toy show. This what I believe. You will see. You all will see.
