Because anything I love in such an intense way will force me to become involved in said activity until I become very good at it as I become good at everything I love. I really don't do anything half way like blogging, podcasting, action figure collection, studying pop culture and the music of my life. Why should the shearing of the sheep be any difference?
Unfortunately I live in a country with no such events.
