Great News

I guess my Mom sold her house so that means I will no longer be around after April 15. I just can't leave this house. I will set up everything she needs to sell off my toys and the rest of my treasures I will burn in a barrel. I might just have her hire someone to work at giving her to best price. I have no to leave my photographs too, my collages, my writing and of course this blog will end and should end if I am not doing it.

All I can do is burn the remnants of my life in a large oil can in the back yard while boxing up my collection for my Mom to sell when I am gone. My books, everything now is just another thing to get rid of like it never really mattered at all. Which is the truth when you really analyze my life.

change is hard, but surmountable and often - most of the time, I've found - good. Hang in there. Ask for help if you need it.

For Christ's sake, Cal, snap out of it! You don't have to get rid of your treasures, and you shouldn't. It'll work out — either you can find a way to stay there, or you'll find a new place.

Can't you just pack up and move, too? Put things on hiatus until you are in Cave #2.

If you're feeling despondent and hopeless about moving, talk to your doctor again. Maybe they can recommend social agencies that can help with finding a new place and relocating? Sending you best wishes -- you can manage this change, Cal!

You can handle this.

Don't get rid of everything and don't shut down the blog. Never give up, never surrender.

"This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool."

There must be a Cave of Cool, Cal! There must! Always and forever!

Seriously, though, definitely reach out to some folks who might be able to assist a bit with what you need. Find something that works for you. Even if you have to put some of your treasures into temporary storage you'll reestablish a new base of operations. Hang in there. I'm praying that all goes well and that you get works things out. Stay well and take care of yourself.

If Canada doesn't already have a version of the Smithsonian to house the collection we'll all have to chip in and create the Heightonian Institution of Cool.
Was it the Dhali Lama who said "disruption disrupts but perseverance furthers"?
I'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together.

Yeh the Lama says that and I am big fan of the Lama but what about that one time when perserverence fails spectacularly. I also don't have his faith in my own ability do deal the all this emotionally. I don't have his sense of zen.
But that's for reaching out.I appreaciated it. I truly do.

Hang in there, Cal! As Winston Churchill said, "If you're going through hell, keep going."
