Fringe Finale (warning - spoilers)
How totally cool was it to see the scenes between William Bell (Leonard Nemoy) and Walter Bishop (John Noble) on tonight's season two finale of 'Fringe'? For two years we have been waiting for these two old 'friends' to get back together. Resentments that were decades old came to the surface. No one plays deep emotional pain like John Noble. Nemoy was never a great actor but it's nice to see him give his all to this part and this confrontation.
One of the great joys in watching 'Fringe' is seeing the mysteries they have established actually being addressed. We see the consequences of actions that Walter took years ago and it all makes sense. The surreal/supernatural aspects of this show seem totally plausible when the explanation fits what we have been told previously.
I would take a dig at 'Lost' at this point but that is pointless. You all can predict what I was going to say anyways
The interaction between Olivia and her other world double was great. Am I evil for preferring the alternate's hairstyle? Why does one have to be good and the other be bad? Why can't they both work together instead of resting on the evil twin theme that has been played to death?
We know from the ending of this episode what the answer to that question is. It's because the havoc the evil Olivia will reek on our side of the world will be delicious to watch. How long will it take for Peter or Walter or Broyles or Astrid to spot the fake and what happens after that occurs?
Having evil Olivia cross back with Walter and Peter is also the cliffhanger that is going to make me insane all summer while I wait for the next season to begin. I never want this show to end and for once FOX didn't do what they always do and cancel a show I like before it's full potential could be realized.
I assume that my alternate double would be thin with a full head of gorgeous reddish blond hair. Oh how I would hate him. He would also be successful, less crazed and without fear and hatred for the cephalopod species. He would have a dog instead of a cat and never get irony or sarcasm. Personally I would never change places with him. That guy is a stiff.

I hope that my double weighs 400 pounds and has to ride around in a scooter because she's too fat to walk.
I'm SO competitive.. even with my other self!
I guess that makes me the evil one! :P
Anyhow.... onto Fringe!
So.. do you think William Bell is dead now or what???
I hate Olivia's character.. always have. I was so angry when the double took her place to go back! I knew right away that was what they were throwing at us.
What with the "You belong with me Peter".. I just KNEW IT!!!! Grrr.
I hope that they figure it out quickly that the Olivia they have is a fake.
I'm sad today because I found out that Ghost Whisperer has been canceled.
I mean, the show sucked but, I watched it!
Everytime a show put a kid on it, it tanks. :(
Anyhow.. despite all of my bitching.. I LOVED the finale of Fringe and am so glad that it has been picked up for another year!
Yay!!!!!
((Hugs))

All I want to know is why is it that the alternate universes have such cool airships? Alternative London in Doctor Who: Airships! Alternative New York in Fringe: Airships!
Who is it in our reality who has such a hate-on for airships?
And... excuse me... Leonard Nimoy was never a great actor? Poppycock! Nimoy is a terrific actor. Just all of his best work has been on stage and not on screen.
He was not such a great singer despite the fact that he put out three albums... but that's another story.
I bet Olivia's niece will spot the double right away. Question is will anybody believe her or can do anything about it. Since our verse Olivia is the only one who can cross over (?) or was the double also treated with Cortexiphan(?) It doesn't seem likely given that double Olivia's naivete as to the cause of the anomalies until Walternate tells her. I believe William Bell is dead. I figured he mentions all his atoms as a sign of some total matter/energy conversion to power the gate. (Double Olivia didn't have to do a thing) Though she does know of the typewriter (Walternate’s instructions no doubt).
My alternate will either already be dead from a possible world altering coup or have succeeded where as I can't get past the planning stage.;)
Here's to the Cave of cool.
My double would probably be in an asylum...
I loved the ending and can't wait to see what happens.
For me, this series is filling a void left by the cancellation of the X-files.
Sunshine - Am I evil for watching Ghost Wisperer with the sound turned down?
MD - I am totally with you on the airship thing. ONE specular explosion (oh the humanity!) and we give up? That isnt us. We got lots more explosions in us. Did 9/11 stop us flying in planes or building tall buildings? I blame the ones who killed the electric car and the cordless vibrator.
Nomad - I have every confidence that you world conquering schemes will one day succeed. It's why me and Brain get up in the morning - so we can take over the world.
Pat - I always say that you measure the success of a series by how much they make you wish for the next season to start. Burn Notice does that for me and Fringe did that for me. The show is very well done. OMG can you imagine how Olivia felt to be behind that prison window looking at Walter who is not Walter?
Yup, that was pretty powerful. I think next season is gonna be a great one...
