Thank Mom. Now I Am Devil Free

In my continuing series highlighting poor parenting skills from around the world, I take you to Northern Spain where they have a yearly festival of BABY JUMPING.

Because we know that all Spanish children are born evil, men in devil costumes volunteer their time and jumping abilities to cleans these babies of the influence of El Diablo.

What parent wouldn't avail themselves of such a service? It would be neglectful not to. Like immunization, cleansing one's child of the devil is just what parents do if they truly love their kids.

This year's festival is on June 6th so you still have some time to book your flight and purify that baby. Don't worry. I am sure they never actually land ON the babies. No way that could happen, right?

"The festival itself is part of the celebrations of the Catholic festival of Corpus Christi which are held all over Spain. Whilst at this particular time many other cities and towns have spectacular processions and a a wide variety of popular celebrations, but this one has to be the strangest and only Baby Jumping Festival.

The babies are laid out on mattresses and grown men dressed as devils jump over the infants and this is supposed to cleanse them of all evil doings."
