I've been hearing the talk all over the megomuseum forum for years.. Awesome to see. Apollo looks a bit better than Starbuck, but it's a shame they couldn't have added some more detail styling to the coats and shirts underneath. Just a bit more stitching would do wonders.
Yeah, I can sew pretty well, but if the makers of vintage GI Joes (some 50yrs ago) can sew a waist hem on the old 1:6 scale MP coats, I'm **pretty sure** a minor level of detail like that could be added here. Even the 1:6 Galactica figures released a few years ago missed some pretty basic details, surprisingly for a limited edition figure.
I'd really liked the cross stitching on the tan shirts under the coat in the old series, that could just be printed on these guys as well. Trust me, some of those sewing-jocks at megomuseum can add some pretty impeccable detail.
Granted, not a lot of tooling investment was considered here for mass marketing, but as long as you have some of the basics uniform parts (and head sculpts), folks'll just buy 'em and customize.
Agreed on the large head size.., it's making me think of the nice 'new' retro Space:1999 figures they made. Very impressive detail there for the 1:9 scale Alphans (paper patches, cross-stitching on Maya's uniform, etc...), but the heads again were a bit huge.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

I'll have to get my sewing machine out, I guess..
Are they from or bound for the Planet Kolub?
Didn't you get the memo? They are heading to Earth.
Can you really sew such tiny pieces of clothing, David?
I loved the original MEGO figures. These ones look like the heads are too big.
Still... Battlestar Galactica MEGO figures? Freakin' awesome!

I will say those flight helmets and Cylons do look INCREDIBLE..!!
Awesome detail there, which was smart. You can always add detail to clothing but those plastic parts are beautiful.
