Tuesdays From The Toybox - The Comic Ads

Every time I saw these ads in 70s comics I would beg my mother for some money to order these. Often she lied to me and explained that the comics where made in America and we couldn't pay for those toys with Canadian money.

What? I was only 7, what did I know about currency conversion? For awhile there I was indignant at the misfortune the USA had heaped upon me. If Osama Bin Laden had found me at that moment I may have been radicalized and joined their jihad - That is how much I wanted those MEGO toys and how let down I was. But in the end it all worked out when my Dad went on a mission to insure that I could have all the MEGO Superheroes he could find.
