It Will Be Halloween Before You Know It

Are you kidding? Wal-Mart already has their aisles prepped with Halloween Home Decor Magazines and plastic trick or treat buckets.

Me, I'm just trying to decide which Halloween movies to make "priority viewing" in anticipation.

I would love to know what you haven't seen so I could give you some recommendations. You can't go wrong beginning with the anthology movie 'Trick or Treat'. I wish one of those came out every year. Each story was perfectly creepy without crossing the line into torture porn. I am not one for horror movies but I LOVE a good scare.

I saw Trick r Treat around the time of its release. I enjoyed the anthology angle. Its a bit disappointing that "Saw" became a series with a new installment every year, and this only had the one movie.

I have a number of horror films in my collection just for this time of year. Plenty of the classic chillers from the 40s like Frankenstein, Wolf Man and the like. In fact most the horror movies on my "to-see" list come from either that era or the 50s "atomic science/ creatures from outer space" school of film. But I'm open to suggestions if you're giving them out.

Last night I was watching the documentary "Man of Shadows", about psychological horror producer Val Lewton. If you haven't seen his cult classic "Cat People", I highly recommend it!
