Portraits of Grandmas and Their Cuisine From Around the World

I made a nice feed of perogies today and it got me thinking of my old Baba who would spend two days filling our freezer with perogies when she visited us as kids. She also made the best homemade donuts that were tastier after they were thawed out months later. It must have been fate that I came across this article today showing off the best dishes of Grandmothers from around the world.

Zanzibar, Wali, Mchuzina Mbogamboga (Rice, Fish and Vegetables in Green Mango Sauce)

Ethiopia (Enjera with Churry and Vegetables)

Haiti (Lambi in Creole Sauce)

Malawi, Finkubala (Caterpillar in Tomato Sauce)

Cayman Islands (Honduran Iguana with Rice and Beans)

I wonder if Iguana tastes like Chicken.

Turkey, Karniyarik (Stuffed Aubergines With Meat and Vegetables)

Zimbabwe, Sadza (White Maize Flour and Pumpkin Leaves Cooked in Peanut Butter)
