I've made or heavily DIYed everything I'm wearing in this photo, from the undergarments to the jewellery. An Edwardian s-bend steel boned corset, drawers, bodice, skirt, train and gloves were all sewn completely from scratch. Literally hundreds of individual organza petals were cut with... a hot knife and hand sewn to the skirt and train. Beaded trim was made by threading bead after bead and attaching each strand individually to a piece of ribbon with a knot for each strand to ensure they were all secure. Beaded motifs on the front of the bodice and the train belt were hand sewn bead by tiny bead. The wig's fringe was extended forward by hand ventilating strand after strand of hair individually. The shoes, which started life a cream colour, were covered in fabric to match the original with accurate panels and stitching detail. The necklace and earrings were created from long lengths of rhinestone chain and chopped up costume earrings before being glued with E6000 and soldered.

Wow! Just wow!
Can imagine all that sewing work? That's what people did in the 1800s before we had TV or radio. It kept them busy.
