Oh John Wick. Are you making troubles again? I think someone is going to get shot again. Magically choreographed deaths seem to surround this John Wick, The Baba Yaga, The Boogyman.
I love how these movies have their own set of rules where anything can and does happen just because it can happen and nothing resembling reality will ever get in the way of that. But that is why I love them all.
"He once killed three guys with a fucking pencil. A FUCKING PENCIL!"
Why do these idiots keep stealing John Wick's car? That is how you get yourself killed. Don't kill his dog, don't take his car. Two rule that you dumbasses fail to learn. But I like that you never learn that because it gives John something productive to do like thin out the criminal underworld. Then they wreck his car. Damn, someone's gonna hurt real bad. That shit will not just buff out. And how does that car keep running after all that damage? Hell, how does one man keep going after all that damage? Who cares. He's John Wick. That is all you need to know, buddy.
I like the way John Wick works his way up to the top guy to make his deal. Someone has to do the negotiating when these things get out of control. It's just bad business for everyone to allow the bodies to pile up too often in one calendar year. Because in the world of John Wick, murder is the business and business is good. And one does not walk away from 'The Job' without repercussions.
John Wick is a principled man. When he makes up his mind he makes up his mind and there is no changing his mind, despite all the misery his ethics bring to his life. Wow. Another thing I love about John Wick movies. They are actually about something other than gratuitous violence and all of John Wick's shit getting wrecked. That always has a way of setting him off.
I find I tend to like Ruby Rose in anything. That is why I will be giving Batwoman a chance in the fall. She is a solid action actress and here she is completely badass.
Oh sweet, John Wick has his own Italian tailor. I guess if you want the best you go for the best. I like the respect he gets from every level of the secret world he uses to get the most difficult of jobs done. From the concierge of the hotel to the man who fixes his car or chooses his wine or sells him weapons. It's all so wonderfully twisted and polite. The conversations with these people must have been fun to write.
"Are you here for the Pope?"
"No"
"All right then. Enjoy your stay." - Police Chief of Rome to John Wick
Wow, that mafia bitch is COLD BLOODED and has her own assassin on standby. Common is a great henchman and he and Keannu have some amazing battles. But the Baba Yaga cannot be killed. The Baba Yaga is immortal.
And then enter Morphius himself, Lawrence Fishburn.
