Robocop 2014 - Official Trailer

The original Robocop came out during University when me and my buddies would do the cheap movie every Tuesday night. Instead of arguing, each person got their choice every week and we rotated. So if a guy choose a bad movie we could ride his ass forever. Well one Tuesday night my turn came along and I said I wanted to see a little known movie called Robocop playing at some dive theatre downtown Edmonton. They were sure they had me and after FIVE trailers for foreign films, I was afraid they were right. Of course as we all know Robocop went on to become a cult classic - a science fiction movie so over the top violent that it rewrote the rules for this genre of film. It also was a biting social commentary of the decline of society when law enforcement would become a corporate responsibility. I see none of that wit in this newest trailer.

Plus I don't see this guy infusing as much humanity into the character that Peter Weller did. Of course I will watch but like the most recent 'Total Recall' reboot, I have to ask, "What is the point?"

Sounds like you and I are kind of on the same page. I don't hate this, it just looks so generic.

Think I'll just listen to Robomayhem's "Robocop Rap" instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTe19SI7ab4

There's no point. This remake isn't needed.

All true, but I kind of like Micheal Keeton, nice to see him again. Samuel Jackson must make a fracking ton of money. He's in every other movie these days.

Meh. Just recently saw the original 2, nothing beats Weller.
