Why Am I Not Playing 'Call of Duty'?

I am not a modern gamer but ads like this one make me wish I was. This is a terrific action packed commercial that actually tells a funny story and appeals to the guy in all of us who would like to escape our obligations and do what we really enjoy - in this case shooting people and aliens and 'MICHAEL FREAKIN MEYERS' from the Halloween movies. I need to learn how to play this game.

Hi, Kal.
I know this comment is a little late, but I've only just gotten a chance to check out your blog.

Since I'm a casual gamer, I thought I'd share something with you..you know, in return for all the awesome stuff you post here.

I think you'd really like the concept of the video game "BioShock Infinite": it's set in 1912 in a floating steampunk-style city, and you play this hired gun who has to rescue a girl from the pro-slavery, religious zealots who control the city. Think Pixar-style animations but with Mature themes. Here's a trailer that I think sums up the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9sm0vQluI4

I've played it a bit, thought it was gorgeous, & I think maybe you'd appreciate it. Here's an example of the "propaganda" posters you'd encounter in the game: http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130928022334/bioshock/images/8/85/WashingtonmuralBIHD-1.jpg

Oh, and how could you not love a game that has a barbershop quartet singing "God Only Knows" atop an airship.

That does look very cool, Al. I like like killer robot of Washington. They made an action figure of it that I have been chasing after.

Well, I simply thought the themes & design of the video game seemed right up your alley. I think you may even find a lot of cosplayers dressing up as Elizabeth, the heroine of the game.

Yeah, the robot Washington is so cool. I imagine the action figure must be a rare find.
