Calvin Fails Again - Just Like We All Knew He Would

Is case you hadn't heard, I left my job today. I was shocked today to be questioned about my monthly invoice and then told that I would only be paid for less hours than I expected. I decided that I was worth more than they were able to pay me. It was better to leave with good feelings. I understand it's business and they just didn't have the hours for me. I had to decide if 4.5 hours a week was enough for me. And hour and a half a day is not good for me or the students. They still have Colin. He can pick up those extra hours and frankly, he's a pro.

They don't need me. I can be of better use somewhere else or maybe I won't do anything at all. I might just sink back into the deepest recesses of my cave. That sounds so much more comforting right now. I have no business being in the outside world.

I have decided in my depression to complete my time machine, go back in time and join this group, because we all know what a success they became in life. Plus I hate them so much that is seems a suitable punishment for my failure. Hell in a smelly hot costume. I have officially hit rock bottom.

Cheer up my Friend... you still have a much better life than we do....
And be proud of the past teaching that you did accomplish....

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that things turned out that way, Cal. You did a good job for them.

I guess not good enough. But that is the story of my life. Epic failure.

If you're above ground, it's a success. We're often built up by media versions of what society calls success, and that's unrealistic. Just to walk the Earth, to think, feel, & wonder is all a gift-

That judgment can only be up to the kids you taught. Remember the lesson of Dead Poet's Society and have faith, my friend.

Chin up brother. Use is as a learning tool, you tried something new, took a risk and you did succeed. Employers pencil whip employees all the time, don't take it to heart. Just keep looking for the next adventure and remember the positive points from this one.

Damn! Tough break, but don't let this stop you! this is a good stepping stone, for you to move to something better, or bigger. Would Teddy Roosevelt let this stop him?? NO WAY! And this won't stop you, either. You are a Bull Moose!

Not being a good fit someplace is not always a failure on your part, so maybe you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. (Not that that's an easy thing in such circumstances.)

I hope you find your place! You belong in the world, not in some cave. (Which isn't to say that there shouldn't be a cave. There should totally be a cave. You just shouldn't be locked in it forever, is all I'm saying.)
