Who Wants To Be Pope If You Can't Have The Occasional Big Mac?

The restaurant is just metres away from St Peter's Square in a Vatican-owned building, 100 yards from the holy state, home of the Pope. McDonald's openings are a common thing – but this one has caused a bit of fuss.

The branch, which went unannounced by the company, and which has seen opposition from locals and members of the Catholic church, has been aptly dubbed "McVatican".

Now it's a short walk for the pope to get his fish sandwich on fridays.

Typical Catholic Church hypocrisy -- condemning something while profiting from it (as landlord).

Besides, I don't see why they're getting all bent out of shape. It's not like it's a whorehouse or something.

It's not the Church hierarchy condemning it - its local people and rad trads. No hypocrisy there.

Well it is kind of a whorehouse from a certain viewpoint.
Actually went to a MacDonald's in Florence Italy several years back when we were visiting my cousins over there. Had to have a french fry fix. The food over there is wonderful but it had been 2 weeks and I needed those fries.

Hypocrisy is the name of the game Micheal. Take our country for example. We are governed by hypocrites.
