WTF? London 2012 Olympic Mascots

I was quite surprised with the mascots that the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver created. Surprised because they were well designed, locally relevant and cute.

Could this have been a change in the trend? Could finally the history of really bizarre looking mascots become a thing of the past? Um...NO.

Seems like London 2012 went the loopy route and came up with these things. What are they? How do they make me think of London? I don't want to hug them, I want to run from them. Their names are Wenlock and Mandeville. Which is which? Does it matter? Here is the video that tells their story because that is what the children wanted and we all know it's all about the children.

I thought in 02 Olympics here in Salt Lake had a weird mascot. They had nothing on these freaks.

I wanted them to go with a fat binge drinker for their mascot.

I think they represent all the surveillance cameras in London.
"Remember we are watching you...for you safety of course."

Does it not look like the one on the right has wet his pants?
