Not our fault... At birth all "Muricans" are given a Social Security Number, a Birth Certificate, and a choice of firearm...

We get mittens, a hockey puck and the side salad of our choice.

Looks like the Midwest is the most peaceful part of the country. Must be the cold Canadian winds blowing their way.

And North Dakota, no one wants to kill anyone in North Dakota. I have been to North Dakota so that surprises me. I wanted to kill everyone when I was in Minot.

They use wood chippers in North Dakota when they want to kill someone. Didn't you see Fargo?

I love Fargo. Never looked at a wood chipper ever the same way again.

I just don't understand it. We're well into the 21st century, and yet, some part of our collective national soul down here still thinks we're revolting against King George and carving out a nation all by ourselves by naught but the sweat of our own brow. Guns are a huge part of this mythology we've woven around ourselves. It's scary when you step back and realize how much of our collective myth is complete bullshit, but still, it dominates us.

This is partly why we still have to endure nearly half, if not MORE than half, of our population screaming that national health care would be an existential threat to the very fabric of our country. I look at other countries that did it years ago, note that they're all doing just fine, and I think, "WTF is wrong with us?!"
