Love This Photo


So many bad things are going on in this picture from 1948 in Saudi Arabia. I just wrote a whole story in my head. Nothing is where it should be and the five main elements just give me cause to be suspicious that the photographer was killed after taking this picture because it meant he knew too much already.

The picture is intriguing, but I'm not sure anyone would have been shot. In 48 the driver of the car, the pilot of the plane and the photogroapher were likely complicit in the construction of the oil pipeline that the Arab is standing on.

Back then if anyone was to be shot it would likely have been the Arab. This picture is likely from a time before the Arabs found out how much the "black blood of the Earth" was really worth.
