This Is Kinda Brillaint

http://field-negro.blogspot.com/

The following essay is must read for those of us living in trump's America.

The Field Negro education series continues.

"God doesn’t bless America.

That’s not how this works.

I’m sorry to break it to you, Bible Belt Christians—but that’s just how it is.

I know this kinda wrecks the convenient narrative you’ve been working for the past 60 or so years (and hitting especially hard the past eighteen months), but honestly that nasty bit of heresy has done enough damage already and it needs to go. It’s straight-up of the devil.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your taglines and hat slogans from, but I know it isn’t from the Bible. I know it isn’t from your coveted and regularly trotted out John 3:16:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God loved the world.

God is in the world-loving business—not the America-blessing business.

You remember the world, don’t you; that massive, spinning sphere of 7.6 billion disparate human beings: brown people, Muslims, LGBTQ folks, Atheists, shithole countries—and lots and lots of non-English speaking, non-Americans?

Check out the Old and New Testaments again.

Read through the Gospels a few times.

Use any translation you’d like:

No America First.
No Making America Great Again (or at all.)
No flags or national anthems to pledge allegiance to.
A few other bits of news from the Scriptures:
Jesus was born in the Middle East.
He didn’t speak English.
He wasn’t white.
He wasn’t Evangelical.
He wasn’t a Republican.
He wasn’t American.
Heck, he wasn’t even Christian.

Jesus was a Rabbi who spent his days as an itinerant street preacher, living off the generosity of strangers and speaking in parables about a new “Kingdom of God:'” a radical way of living where the poor were cared for, the oppressed freed, and the outcasts welcomed in.

Jesus came to usher in a countercultural kind of interdependent community, in direct opposition to the power-wielding Roman Empire he stepped into. It was a diverse, barrier-breaking, border-transcending, nation-defying movement of generosity and mutual affection. It had nothing to do with blessing a Government or building an army—or creating a gated community of white folks in North America two thousand years in the future.

To claim that America was at all the point of the Gospels is flat-out heresy.

To assume any God-ordained supremacy based on religion, nation of origin, pigmentation, orientation, or native tongue—is a perversion of the work of Jesus and idolatry of the worst kind.

I’m sorry to break all this bad news to you. I understand the actual words of the Gospel are problematic, given the story you’re selling to those whose fear you’re leveraging in America right now.

It’s impossible to be devoted to the Jesus of the Scriptures, while refusing refugees, expelling immigrants, vilifying brown people, worshiping political power, guarding borders, and neglecting the poor—which is exactly the point.

As long as you continue to conflate God and America, you’re going to be whitewashing the Good News, shrinking God into your own image, and bastardizing the message of Jesus in ways that can only be described as fully and violently heretical.

If your God is America—you need a bigger God." [Source]

Go ahead and pass the offering plate for John Pavlovitz.

Burn it all. Let your god sort out the ashes.

That makes no sense, but okay.

So you understand, given your numerous statements about the Christian faith it is clear you're not well versed.

He quotes John 3:16 but out of context. Within context of what else is said there, it clearly states the EXACT opposite of what he claims it does.

"Your God"? So, you have an issue with the God of Abrahamic faiths? What of those who claim to speak on His behalf?

I'm convinced that most Trump supporters who self-identify as Christians have rarely or never read the New Testament. Actual Christians follow the teachings of Christ: "Help one another. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked. Welcome the stranger. Love your neighbor as yourself." You can't love God and Mammon, and you can't love Trump and Jesus. To claim that you do, while deforming, defiling and ignoring Christ's plain teachings, is sacrilege.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

Margaret, that simply is not the case. Feel free to provide actual Scripture to support your claims. I'll wait.

Most of his policies do follow the Works of Mercy, but you're likely too clouded by hatred of political opponents to recognize that. Right to Center-Right policies attend to these things much better than Leftist policies which serve to oppress the individual and, over time, undermine the very classes of people they pretend to want to help.

You do understand you're on the side of the folks who are arguing in favor of murdering newborns this week, right?

Why do you come on here and waste time with your drivel. You bored the hell out of me. You are convincing no one of your position and you learn nothing from me. Like many a Hillbilly you cannot be enlightened about a damn thing so I now allow you to wallow in your ignorance.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

For starters all you have ever done is spit invective. You've never spent a single sentence attempting to explain your positions. You belch out the pre-packaged corporate viewpoints you've learned and mimic them here without additional thought.

I come here because I like your other content. I comment because you clearly have no experience with anyone disagreeing with you.

Hey Cal -- I think that last comment qualifies you to be the 45th President of the U.S.! Spit invective? Check. Never spend a single sentence attempting to explain your positions? Check. Belch out pre-packaged corporate viewpoints you've learned to mimic without additional thought? Check. Clearly no experience with anyone disagreeing with you? Check, check and check!

Wow. Bet you didn't think you had so much in common with that creamsicle colored Fucktard. Good thing you're not also a treasonous pathologically lying misogynistic racist narcissist with dictatorial and incestuous ambitions and absolutely no conscience, couth, dignity or respect for anyone other than yourself. If you were, we would need to give you a shave, make you wig out of stray dog hair, and get you a spray tan so you could run the country while President Shitforbrains plays golf and jerks off thinking about a threesome with Putin and Ivanka.

Cal's Canadian Cave of Coolness said...

him or me, jester. I missed who you disliked the most in your comment.

jester59388 said...

I don't dislike you, Cal! You missed the irony. Just saying that if what MOLN says is true then you should be one of MOLN's favorite people!

Cal's Canadian Cave of Coolness said...

I thought it was something like that but it's hard to hear sarasm when you type something. I can't believe he thinks he will convince anyone who comes to the Cave of Cool. I make so secret of all the things I LOVE and especially what I hate. But the second he rolls out that bible chapter and verse bullshit then I know he is truly a retard. And probably right wing school shooter or a pedophile who always tend to be republican. Sarah Suckable Sanders told me so.

MOLN should post first thing every morning in the winter. We could read him at dawn with a mug of deathly strong java, and it would get our blood running hard and wash the winter crap out of our system. On the other hand, HIS crap would then be ENTERING our systems...it's a tradeoff.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

Lots of invective, very little in way of points being made.

Actually Margaret, I do post first thing every morning elsewhere and its quite fun. That group is made of Left and Right who actually engage in discussion. Cal and Co aren't about that. It's okay, I'm happy to stop on by and correct Cally's ignorant childish outbursts as they spout up. It's good for him, he needs to learn how to handle mild confrontation.

I get the naughty Orange Man Bad denied the coffee breathed harridan her 'turn' and that leaves you all butt hurt, but its been a couple years and time to get over it. Most of you remind me of how conservatives reacted to Obama in his first term. Instead of a birth certificate you're wailing about Russia. Same shit different asswipes.

Margaret Benbow said...

MOLN, your name itself is an "ignorant childish outburst," but that's OK. Call yourself whatever you want, knot up your fists and turn blue. Michelle will just serenely continue being beautiful and smart and other good things. By the way, I'm sure she does have more stones than her detractors. As for Orange Bloat "denying" Clinton the presidency, he couldn't have won fair and square if he ran alone. As you know, she won by a hefty majority in the popular vote. (Remember the will of the people? That quaint concept?)Our rickety, derelict electoral college snagged him the victory. As for Russia, call me petty, but I'd rather a former KGB colonel didn't micromanage our elections. You know, the Russian guy who recently was spotted grinning hilariously and giving high fives to that Arab sheik because they both managed to murder their pesky journalists and get away with it? Those guys? Trump's heroes? But I'm glad you belong to a discussion group that's both Left and Right and that you're all respectful with each other.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

My moniker comes from back during Obama's first term when the media went on a full narrative push to insist Michelle was graceful and the most beautiful woman ever when in fact she was hulky and had the table manners usually reserved for a prison cafeteria. Not really an outburst, more of a mockery of the media and their crafting reality. If it was Laura Bush's Right Nut you wouldn't care one whit.

"...he couldn't have won fair and square if he ran alone." Hillary literally rigged the primary. You remember that right? The DNC chair had to step down on the eve of the convention itself and her successor had to step down for help Hillary cheat during a debate. Ringing a bell?

The popular vote is meaningless. That is not how our elections work. Your argument is no different than saying after losing a football game that your team should have won regardless of the score because you ran more yards.

The electoral college system protects the 'will of the people'. Without it politicians would only attend to the needs of CA, NY, FL, TX and IL. The rest of the country would be without votes. Each state and its people have specific needs and cultures. All should have a voice in drafting our path forward. This is the beauty of living under a Republic and not a democracy.

If you review the DNC strategy during the 2016 election you will find they funneled money into locations that they normally would have ignored because they were concerned Hillary was going to win the Electoral College and not the popular vote. They didn't want the same arguments they're throwing at Orange Man Bad thrown at the harridan. Many see this as the reason she lost and handed the Right the Judicial Branch (not just the SCOTUS) for the next century on a platter.

Margaret Benbow said...

MOLN, you're a contrarian. You chose your name because you were pouting about the media's glorification of Michelle's looks? If I didn't know better, I'd say that you're quite the snowfl--oh, never mind.

The primaries were "rigged?" This was the bleat of Bernie and his Butthurts when Clinton beat him like a rug during the primaries. It seems they thought he deserved the nomination although he'd been thrashed, stank of failure, was not a Democrat, was an NRA bootlicker (the only non-Republican on their top 25 list of politicians to whom they donated), had a total of three bills to his name of which two were for renaming post offices, had promised to run a clean campaign which he interpreted as naming his opponent "corrupt and unfit," claimed to be a socialist although he owned three residences, had a fat stock portfolio and was in the top 4% of income and assets, and had mocked, reviled and defamed the Democratic Party during all the years he had been the biggest waste of space in Congress. And that, MOLN, is why you should take his sad loser's claims with whole sea beds of salt.

The electoral college was formed to protect the "rights" of slave owners and people like that. We live in 2019. Enough said.

I hope the DNC strategy in 2016 was indeed to give Clinton a boost, because she was their best bet and it would have been an intelligent action. I'm concerned about your mental health, since you insist on referring to Clinton as a "harridan." I know this will come as a shock to the many men who gleefully voted for her inferiors, but they were not really revenging themselves against their smothering mother or bossy sister or the bright girl in high school who always had her hand in the air and made them feel dumb, or the women who had rejected them over the years. That would be impossible.Clinton was just herself, an exceptionally capable person, and the size of her butt was not really as relevant as Bernie'sBoyz thought it was.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

Yes, I was mocking corporations painting a picture through their media outlets that did not reflect reality. I then kept it because I like when Leftists lose their shit.

The primaries were rigged. Donna Brazile, the DNC Chair during the convention, says as much. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/11/donna-brazile-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders. All of it certainly goes along with the Clinton's history of underhanded moves.

I would love to see a citation that the Electoral College was created to protect the rights of slave owners from an actual historical source not some recent MSM horseshit.

Even if it was, as you say it is the current year, and in this current year we can clearly see its benefits as I explained previously.

I refer to Clinton as a harridan because she is. I'd go one further and call her a drunken harridan but she appears to be sober from time to time. She is a corrupt corporate whore who traded on her husband's achievements. She's a scumbag. One does not need to have issues with women to see that, she is the worst democrat to run for POTUS since David Duke.

MORN is quite sad when you read his rant. Why choose here of all places. The quality of opponent is better than you are used to but you are still quite sad to bully all of us heretics who you wish were as dull as you are. You create nothing but baloon juice. And you routinely commit the worst crime of all. You are boring.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

Rant: speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.

Not what I've been displaying in the slightest.

I choose here, because as I have said numerous times, I enjoy Cal's content but found his irrational posts annoying and then discovered he has obviously never has been challenged in his beliefs. If he is going to put his uninformed opinions out in public, let him be challenged. It's good for him as discourse, rude or not is best for all.

The opponents I've come across here are rather weak. Almost all of you, there was someone a couple days ago who had citations, belch out frantic nonsense, pretend it is fact and then attack my character with no facts. It is arguing with teenagers. You'll get better at this.

I don't believe I called any of you heretics given I don't think any of you are actually Christian. I wouldn't bother using that kind of term on someone who was.

If I am so boring, why do you respond? I am interesting to you because unlike everyone in your lives, I think differently and stand up to your bullying. Your worldview is corrupt and dictated by corporations. You know it, you just don't want to admit it.

Margaret Benbow said...

MOLN, you don't like the left, you don't like the right, and you don't like centrists. If you were a sorcerer, who would be your choice for POTUS? This isn't a rhetorical question. I'd like to know.

Margaret Benbow said...

P.S. MOLN, you don't get to decide the quality of your rants, blabbings and jeremiads. We do.

Michelle Obama's Left Nut said...

Honestly, I'm loving Trump. As a man he is an ass and I wouldn't want him in my personal life. I love, love, love how much he freaks people out and how he is putting the lie to the fantasy that politicians are worthy of our respect or should be given special status. I also like that he is stacking the judicial branch as a slit to the throat of progressive encroachment on human freedom. That is a cancer that needs to die ASAP.

If I had a choice I'd dig up Coolidge and make his reanimated corpse king for a generation.

And you're right I hate them all. Conversely, I have voted for both camp depending on who is on the ticket.

You?
