This needs to be a series of short, one joke, bumper cartoons shown between commercials during Star Wars Rebels which starts this fall.
I love how many of Robert McQuarrie's original designs for Star Wars made it into this feature, especially the large guy who was once the look for Chewbacca. Jeb is the McQuarrie Chewbacca through and through.

I love the McQuarrie "What it could have been" angle as well. Of course I was hooked the moment they said "Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman is the showrunner".
