Darwyn Cooke Does Variant Covers In December

These are gorgeous. Many of the sites I visit are showcasing these today and rightfully so. Cooke has such a timeless style and he's only become better over the years. His backgrounds have become more complex and that creates a perfect superhero world for his deceptively simple character designs.

The DC animated film, Justice League The New Frontier is a must view as is the graphic novel that it's based on. Cooke created a game changer with that book. It's the perfect story for someone who loves superheroes but is scared off by all the continuity you have to know to enjoy much of what is put out these days.

super talented and super nice, met him a few times at megacon, always happy to sign your comics, even did a little doodle of hal jordan on my new frontier cover.

That is cool. That is the kind on contact with these guys you hope for. I love what he did with this stuff and I am a fan of his style. I love that easy to animate and Bruce Timm is the right guy to make the animated feature. Which is great especially if you love the Martian Manhunter.

Love them. But that Arthur and Mera piece is frame-worthy beautiful!

Refreshingly different style. My fave is Catwoman on the motorcycle.
