Great toys or GREATEST toys? I understand 'Johnny Seven' was the most popular boy's toy in 1964, the year before I was born and I can totally understand why. You get SEVEN different instruments of death in a huge peice of hardware. I grew up on military bases so we played 'guns' all the time. This would have totally ruled the playground. The 'Secret Sam' kit which was created to take advantage of the spy craze of the time actually came with a working camera! I would have totally been all over these toys just from seeing the commericals. No way would these ever be sold today. I think I need to do some Ebay searching just to prove to myself that a complete toy no longer exists out there. If it does I will have to do some serious bidding because I want BOTH of these.

I had 'em both. There's a pic of me with the Johnny Seven on my blog smewhere ( damn thing was almost too big to lift!)and I had the Secret Sam case, gun and camera until just recently. Who remembers what happened to the rest. At the time, there was a similar 007 briefcase that looked cooler but the Secret Sam one came with a REAL camera so I wanted that one! Then I proceeded to cut everyone's head off with my first pix!
Damn...I was born just a few years too late to enjoy these terrific toys. Once again Brother Steve I am jealous of you.
