Other Cool Places I Would Like To Be

With a week to go before my 70 year old mother once again travels across the world to Australia, I find that I am feel really restless and frisky to go somewhere myself.

A few months ago when travel plans were being made I was much more welcoming of a trip to New York or San Francisco as opposed to another trip 16 hour plane trip 'down under'. Of course I find out this week that I could have spent most of my time in New Zealand with my brother in law. Too late for all that now. Stupid family.

So I will be spending eight weeks alone at the beginning of summer. I invite any of you who wish to camp out with me in the refrigerator box in the back yard to come by.

Other places that caught my eye come from these images of wild green and mountainous places a short drive from most of Europe's major cities. THAT IS WHAT I NEED - I need to twist around Europe for a couple of months - visit some old castles and renew my soul on some beer and strudel soaked cobblestone streets.

What happened to that tent swing in the backyard?

I would stay..in the tent swing. Looked super cool. The box is a little too ode to hobo for me. :)

You really should add NZ to your list my friend. While it's winter there it's summer here. Tempting no? Sorry I've been so absent of late. I've been a busy boy of late.

I know Nick. I got all wrapped up in making sure that my mother got all her stuff settled that I totally had to bail on my own vacation. But I am going somewhere this year.

I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love these posts. You have a great eye for adventurous places and in a perfect world, we'd have one hell of a road trip visiting them in a worldwide cephalopod hunt.

Oh, and if you hit Convergence with Sarah, let me know. I'm just across the river from her and would love to meet up.
