Top Ten Countdown Music Blogfest

Brother Alex J is holding a top ten song blogfest over at his site and I thought I would get in on the action. Now there are too many songs that I love to whittle it down to just ten so I chose songs I love that also have videos that I think are pretty cool and are the equal of the music. Inspirational or just fun these are the ten that I like to watch and listen to. I didn't get in on time to be included on his list but I want to participate regardless.

Linkin Park - What I've Done

I ask myself.

Sarah McLachlan - Possession

This just takes my breath away.

Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love

There is that shooting star.

10,000 Maniacs - Candy Everybody Wants

You probably already got what's killing you.

Fine Young Cannibals - Not The Man I Used To Be

I was never the man I used to be.

Selena Gomez and the Scene - Naturally

I just love her - naturally.

Garbage - Special

I really did think you were special. Not the 'little bus' kind of special either.

Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?

Really, I ask you, where IS the love?

The Clash - Rock the Casbah

If a Jew and a Muslim can rock out to the Clash then there is hope for us all.

Van Halen - Right Now

Right now is the time to make the change that is best for you and the world.

I am definitely with you on the first two.

Two out of ten isn't bad. Music is so personal.

I couldn't come up with a final ten, not ever. Okay, maybe. Okay, I'll think about it...

I had to put that limit on me that the video had to be the equal of the song. Then I went with the first ten off the top of my head. You are right, it is too hard any other way. I could do a fresh ten tomorrow but went with what I was happy with tonight. Some didn't maked the cut because the video was 'disabled by request'. How stupid for an artist to do that. To LIMIT exposure to their music. Fuck you Jewel. I am talking about you.

oH, I like me some Linkin Park. When it comes to your dear Selena, the only song I like her from her opus is YEAR WITHOUT RAIN, such a lovely video!

Garbage is an incredible band. I was wearing their shirt at a comic convention in KC years a ago. Chaos comics was there signing. One of the editors stopped me and commented on my shirt. He was apperently really good friends with Butch Vigg and they had visited each other's studios. He said they were planning a collaborative project, but I am not sure anything ever came frome it.

We have a similar taste in music! There were only a couple of songs that I'm not fond of.

Have you ever heard of Toronto-based singer Hayden Desser? He's one of my favs as well and if you haven't checked him out, you should. All of his songs are stories.

I will check him out. Of course we have similar taste in music. How could it be any other way? Sigh. Just another fabulous thing to add to my day. Another awesome person I can never hang out with.

Did you get the survey questions? I sent them to your other addy.

Excellent! Hey, let me see if I can slip you into the list...

Sarah said...

I did! I've been plugging away when able while "working". You should get them later today if all goes well.

Okay dude, you're on the list!

Kal said...

Mighty decent of you Alex. You didn't have to do that. My mistake for getting in so late.

Kal said...

No rush Sarah. I know those things can be a pain in the ass.
