Weta and Dr. Grordbort

From Weta in New Zealand (the same company who created many of the props for the 'Lord of the Rings Trilogy' and 'King Kong') come these steam punk inspired works. Under the banner of 'Dr Grordbort' they churn out products and artwork from a time that never existed but should have. A gorgeous steampunk world full of beautiful women, ray guns, jet packs, air ships and fierce battles with alien aggressors. They even produce a fictional catalog of their products that include faux biographies of those that have used them with success as adventurers or hunters. They have posters of individuals and identities they have created for their fictionalized universe (like Stella at top) but they are too small to post. Best go HERE to see them and read the descriptions included. You know at least one of them has fought off world octopus terrors with his handy ray gun. To me steampunk is a fantastic design motif. I love every brass and wood part of it. I liked the look of 'The Golden Compass' but I want a full on adventure story in the steampunk model. The upcoming 'Sherlock Holmes' has that great Victorian setting that you want but now crank it up to 11 and give me a tale set at the same time but paint everything with the steampunk brush.
